ABSTRACT
DAGTUM, a Cebuano translation of the Filipino word of Itim (English: Black), is a psychological thriller and mystery video game about the collegiate life of a girl named Alex Celorico.
The design symbolizes the word DAGTUM itself, written in Badlit, a Cebuano writing system. The prologue begins in Laguna, Philippines, with Teresita Celorico (Mother) and Socorro Celorico (Father), who are originally based from Cebu and have twins Alex (the playable character) and Alec (who died on the day when he was born and Alex is not aware all along).Alex received a scholarship to a prominent university in Maynila, therefore the timeline skipped over their college years. At the beginning of school, she has been bullied ever since, but the game takes place in a form of “three day-setting” before the field trip which is in the finals of the semester. As everything changes from the rising part until the ending; in a single snap in Laguna, specifically at Mount Makiling, flummox and sporadic beings are appearing in the eyes of Alex, and uncanny missing people are rumored and unsolved.

WORLDBUILDING
Enigma happens in both Manila and Laguna, Philippines, spotlighting the broken-down student life of Alex Celorico struggling with such hindrances and uncanny beings surrounding her. The triggering decision and actions arise as continuous desperation between the past and her current life tearing apart her sanity.
Alex Celorico’s schizophrenia affects her daily life, love and relationship, and herself. Mythological beings take shape in the story, however, it’s also a part of her hallucinations. PMU (Prestigious Manila University) is a fictional school where Alex became a scholar, it is one of the most important settings, as everything is all placed and how Alex’s views were impacted.

RESEARCHES
Mount Makiling (also called as Mount Maquiling) reaches approximately 1,090 meters (3,576 feet) above sea level. Mount Makiling is renowned for its abundant biodiversity and verdant forests. With trails that provide beautiful vistas and an opportunity to discover a variety of plants and animals, the volcano is a popular hiking destination.
The volcano is categorized as "Inactive" by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS). However, Mount Makiling's unique conical shape results from its volcanic formation. Its cultural value is further enhanced by the local folklore around it, which includes stories of mysterious creatures like the diwata Mariang Makiling. Its biodiversity and natural beauty are protected by conservation initiatives.

Where Mount Makiling was located:
Mount Makiling is easily accessible for visitors from the capital area because it is situated south of Metro Manila in the province of Laguna on the Philippine island of Luzon. The town of Los Baños, which is well-known for its hot springs and serves as a starting point for the hiking routes of Mount Makiling, is close to the peak.

The legend behind the mountain:
Maria Makiling, a diwata, dwelt in the forest next to Mount Makiling, according to the tradition surrounding the mountain. She is incredibly giving to those that live close to her. She devoted everything to the human hunter after falling in love with him, only to discover later that he was unfaithful and had a human wife. The mountain bears Maria Makiling's name, who withdrew into the forest after experiencing heartbreak. The narrative emphasizes the distinction between the human and magical realms.
